About size. This is a customized custom knife. Like having a tailored shirt made for you. Only better (and cheaper!)

Correct HideAway size = the HideAway is big enough to yank on quickly + small enough to stay on your hand if it relaxes and drops downward.

Please follow these instructions closely. An animation is loading to the right that will show you how to take your HideAway size! Do not try to add slack to your measurement. My sizing algorithm does all that for you. I just need your 2-finger circumference measurement from where you wear rings. Or around your knuckles if those are bigger.

Here's how to take it. Need it in inches please:

1) Get a ruler, scissors, scotch tape, a pen and sheet of paper.

2) Do what you see the person in the above video doing. The strip of paper being cut is narrow, just 1/2 or 1/4 inch wide. He is using a small piece of scotch tape to secure the base of his trigger finger. Then, he's pulling the paper around his trigger and middle finger, where he wears rings. He's pulling the paper to "snug" but not tight. He marks the overlap point with a pen, and measures with a ruler.

After the final step, it looks like this:

A close-up of why size matters is below. Look at the 2 red trainers. Each one provides a perfect fit for the right person.

3) That's it! Remember to enter your measurement into the white box labeled "Your Size" on the "I Want One screen" in decimal format. Example: 4.63

Please do not use a sewing-kit measuring tape. They stretch and are not accurate at all for this purpose. If you want to wear your HideAway with your Nomex flight gloves, then request cord-wrapping and take off the cord-wrap, *or* measure with your gloves on.

The World's Largest HideAway size recorded so far is Chuck Bybee's 6.06 inches! That is as large as my wrist! If someone gives me a measurement over 5 inches, I usually ask them to re-measure using any other different way (dental floss and a ruler), because at over 5 inches, you are a statistical outlier. :-).

HideAways are custom fit to your hand for retention and speed. Please measure twice.
